Dr. Kunda Shahane is a Fetal Medicine Specialist in Nagpur, Central India. With over two decades of dedicated medical experience, her clinical journey has been defined by a relentless pursuit of diagnostic excellence and an unwavering commitment to maternal and fetal safety.

After achieving her Master of Surgery (MS) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2009, Dr. Shahane served three years as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sumandeep Medical College. However, recognizing a critical gap in highly specialized prenatal diagnostics in Nagpur, she took her Diploma in Ultrasound and pursued a super-specialty Fellowship in Fetal Medicine (FIFM) at VS Hospital & Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Prashant Acharya.

In 2014, Dr. Shahane returned to Nagpur and established the very first specialist Fetal Medicine unit in Central India at Mayflower Clinic. Her vision was clear: pregnant mothers in the Vidarbha region should not have to travel to metro cities to receive specialist, life-saving fetal care.

Today, she is a trusted referral destination for complex cases, chromosomal screenings, and intricate in-utero fetal therapies. Do I need a referral from my regular Obstetrician to see Dr. Kunda?

While many of our patients are directly referred by their primary Obstetricians for specialized scans or high-risk management, a formal referral is not mandatory. Many mothers choose to book directly with Dr. Kunda for their routine NT or Anomaly scans to receive specialist Fetal Medicine screening.

Will Dr. Kunda deliver my baby?

As a Fetal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Kunda's primary focus is diagnosing and managing the health of the baby during the pregnancy. She works in close collaboration with your primary Obstetrician, who will typically manage your labor and delivery. Dr. Kunda provides your delivery team with the precise roadmap they need to ensure a safe birth.

What should I bring to my first consultation?

Please bring all of your previous medical records, including any ultrasound reports, blood tests (especially Dual Marker or NIPT results), and details of any pre-existing medical conditions or medications you are currently taking. This allows Dr. Kunda to have a complete, comprehensive view of your maternal history.
